Beach Weddings, DJing and Fainting...

On June 20th Eric and I headed down to Wilmington NC to attend Leslie and Brent's wedding on the beach. Eric was coming to help me DJ and carry the heavy stuff. Let me set the scene. The wedding starts at 6pm on the beach. It is 99 degrees on the beach when we get there at 5:30. VERY hot and not many clouds to help out. The bride and groom did bring water for everyone so I had one bottle. In hind sight I should have had 2...or 25...but I digress. So the wedding started at 6:30 because someone in the family was running late. While waiting, we noticed some older people having a hard time getting out to the area for the wedding. It was about a 100 yard +or- from the sidewalk to the wedding area. One lady had walker with a seat in it and had to stop like 5 times before she got to the area. We were all worried about them so we made sure that someone could drive out on the beach and pick them up so they wouldn't fall out in the 99 degree weather. Wedding goes off without a hitch...it was beautiful and happy! Got some great pictures and Leslie and Brent both looked awesome! Now the wedding is over and it is time to dash to the reception to get the music going. Eric stays back a minute to help the older folks to the car and I head to the Element to get the AC going...it was STILL hot when the wedding was over at 7ish. I am walking to the car and get almost to the sidewalk and I start to feel a little whoozy...I think..Oh I'm just tired from all the running around and walking in sand. I will lean up against this little wall and rest for a second...then everything started going black. CRAP I thought...SHAKE IT OFF..shook my head to get it even again...not happening. OH CRAP...I am about to fall out... I turn to my left and see what I think is a guy and say...sir...Can you help me?? Then the next thing I know...I am ON THE GROUND...sand EVERYWHERE...seems I have passed out and this kind man and his wife helps me out. The man turned out to be an EMT so THAT was good. And Luckily my dress didn't fly up over my head. Or maybe it DID and they were too nice to tell me... Yeah...we were all worried about the older folks...and there I go...falling out!!!! My first thought...after...DANG IT THIS IS EMBARRASSING was...I wonder what that looked like? Just curious. A little morbid maybe...but still curious. :) That is a World's Funniest video waiting to happen. The big mystery? How did I fall STRAIGHT down and STILL get sand ALL the way up to my HIPS???? I'm not even KIDDING! hahahahahah....it is funny to think about it now. And then after all that...I have to Dj...well...ERIC ended up doing all the announcing...Family Dances...everything...cause i was loopy for a good 2 hours. Sigh...go figure... Lesson learned...when in direct sunlight I need an umbrella and LOTS of water. Maybe I am a vampire....hmmm...there is a thought. And did you know? There are goats that actually faint a lot as well???? Just thought I'd share... Off To drink some water..

Whew. I learned this lesson last year too. I did the SAME thing only not at the beach, the mountains, hiking in the shade. I passed out in Greg car and threw up at the same time. I am sure that must have looked very pretty too, lol. Drink, drink, drink, drink. Hope you are feeling better!
