This year was the Year to be in Town for Christmas. Good times. We went to the parents house to celebrate and bake and shop and various Chess games. Eric discovered My Dad's and Wesley's talent for Chess and many challenges ensued. We went a few days before Christmas and met Dad for a little shopping mayhem. Dad was on the hunt for an Ipod touch and a TV for the bedroom. He found the only Ipod Touch in 3 counties and snatched it up!
Christmas morning was relaxing and fun. Eric and I exchanged our gifts with one another then we got ready and headed to the families house. We all hung out and visited and such until Mom got off work. We opened presents in the afternoon and then had a wonderful dinner followed by you guessed...MORE CHESS...and some Phase 10...with a LOT of Giant Spoons thrown in for good measure. :)
All in all it was a great time together. As I grow older, I am realizing that while gifts are fun to open and play with, the time spent with family is priceless. Just being able to sit and chat and play games....and bake...is a wonderful gift and a great blessing. I am thankful for my family both here and in Michigan. I love visiting with them and seeing them and hearing their stories. These are the times that are valuable...these are the gifts that will never break...won't have to be returned for a better size, and will always be in style. Good times...good times...Enjoy the images. :)
