RALEIGH, N.C. -

Downtown Raleigh businesses are making efforts to bounce back from a sluggish economy, which seems to be keeping many patrons from enjoying a Saturday night out on the town.

Nearby, the Tir Na Nog Pub is trying to keep business steady by making sure it has a variety of events to attract people, like different music acts.

"I think you have to do something different to get people in because you can eat and drink anywhere," said General Manager Annie Nice.

Nice said business hasn't slowed down yet, but she said that could be because of the pub's strong base of regular customers.

Tir Na Nog patrons Eva and Eric Hahn of Raleigh said that coming out on a Saturday night is becoming a luxury.

"It's a lot cheaper to go to the grocery store and pick some stuff up there than coming out and paying someone to bring it to your table," Eric Hahn said.
