Did you do that on Purpose?

Usually when we are asked the above question it is usually in relation to something we have done....and usually that something is not a good thing. But lately I have been thinking about that question in another way. At the end of each day, I ask myself this question in relation to my day. Did I live my life today on purpose? Did I carpe' a little Diem? Or did I just let it happen around me...being an observer to my life rather than the one who lives my own life?
Some days the Diem is Carpe'ed....and some days I hate to admit, the days have just passed and I was an observer. 
But what if I only had 2-3 years? Thinking of the Hahn Family Experiment...I want to SEIZE every day. I want to live every day....good bad or ugly. These days are mine...and I want them. I want to live them. I don't want to 'be lived'. I am like Johnny 5...I want to be alive. Now you wanna talk about seizing the day and never giving up...check out Johnny in J5 part 2. I was impressed. He never gave in. And it got bad...he just kept trying....and he got people to help him...even when the people thought they couldn't help him, J5 believed in THEM enough to allow them to help him. Even in his darkest hour J5 held it together and was able to fix himself.
Now I know that we are NOT robots. We are people. And we are fallible. And we need lots of help. And sometimes the people that are there to help us think they can't do it...they can't help us. But we CAN help each other. And we NEED to help each other. And somewhere in all the helping one another...and all the believing in one another....our day is SEIZED. And when we are asked much later...by the One In Charge..."Did you do that on Purpose"?    We can answer with sincere confidence.....YES...I DID do it on purpose.
And then all the pain and all the trials and all the laughter and all the blessings and all the craziness will all be worth it. And we will feel the true peace that comes from Living our Lives on Purpose.
